![]() Rachel Barnett - Playwright Rachel has had her plays performed at a number of theatres throughout the UK, including; Theatre 503 and The Royal Court in London, and The Sherman Theatre in Cardiff. In 2006, Rachel was one of 50 young writers supported by the Royal Court Theatre and the BBC. She has been on attachment with Sphinx Theatre Company and Chichester Festival Theatre, where she continues to work with their youth and education department. Rachel is currently working on a new translation (from French to English) of the stories that Eugene Ionesco wrote for his daughter. This will inspire a play for a young audience to be produced in 2008. Rachel recently received a Special Commendation for her play, A Sky Full of Stars, in the prestigious Verity Bargate Award. She is currently working on a new full-length play entitled, Sins, And Other Wonderful Things. Rachel recently made her New York debut with Mind The Gap Theatre and A Castle in a Meadow in January 2008. |
